Pete Hayes is the Chairman and CEO of Red Cedar Steel and has been with the company for nearly forty years. Pete started his career in the field as an ironworker prior to earning his role in management and is still a member of the union today. Today he is in charge of developing the company’s long-term strategy and oversees all aspects of the company. Pete also is head of business development for the company and has been integral in growing the company from a regional Wisconsin steel erector into one with a national presence. Pete serves as a board member of IMPACT, an ironworker and management trust, and serves as co-chair of the Heartland Region.
Mike Hayes is President of Red Cedar Steel and has been in the steel industry since 1996. Mike started his career in the steel fabrication side of the industry until he joined the Red Cedar Steel team in 2010. Mike has been a leader in the company’s expansion in the Western part of the US and has also been a key part in the nationwide growth the company is now experiencing. Mike earned a business management degree from Olivet Nazarene University.
Jeff Stovern is the Chief Financial Officer for Red Cedar Steel. Jeff is responsible for several aspects of the company including finance, risk management, insurance, banking, and oversees the human resource and IT departments. Jeff assists the CEO and President in developing the company’s long-term strategic goals and monitors those goals on an ongoing basis. Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant, graduated from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire’s college of business with honors, and is a member of the WICPA and CFMA.
Troy Garrett serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Red Cedar Steel and oversees our different business units. A 30-year veteran of the commercial construction industry, Troy has led operations for both large-scale construction management firms as well as engineering and specialty contracting firms like Red Cedar with operations nationwide. Troy is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and spent seven years leading soldiers as an Infantry officer. He gained his MBA at Auburn University.
Cory Cook, VP of Operations and General Manager of Red Cedar Steel's Midwest Division, brings nearly 25 years of commercial construction expertise. Starting as a journeyman ironworker, progressing through roles as Foreman and Superintendent, Cory's versatile experience provides a wealth of construction expertise and drives his commitment to operational excellence. Passionate about developing the team and streamlining processes, Cory ensures projects are well planned and executed, emphasizing safety, quality, and timely completion.
